Gabriela's Bio:
Gabriela Illa Acevedo is a proud Chicagoan and health law practitioner. Since 2011, she has worked to address issues including community emergency preparedness, access to health coverage and reproductive healthcare, childhood lead exposure prevention, support for survivors of domestic violence, and more. Currently, Gabriela works on the legal team at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and holds a faculty appointment at Rush University where she teaches health law and ethics. Gabriela earned a Bachelor of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law. She is an active member of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois and serves on the board of directors for the Michael Reese Research and Education Foundation.
